Our smart access control system
We’ve rolled out a full smart access control platform across our entire Erskine complex. The technology is Australian-designed and operated, and it won the SSAA Innovation Award in 2024 — it’s genuinely changing what self storage security looks like.
There are three hardware components installed at every unit: a unit controller (the brain of each unit, connecting everything together), a smart lock fitted directly to your roller door, and PIN pads at our perimeter gates for secure entry and exit.
This means your unit isn’t just protected by a padlock you bought at the hardware store. It’s protected by a smart, connected system that gives both you and us real-time visibility over what’s happening at your unit.
What this means for you as a customer
Here’s what you actually get access to as a Go 2 Storage customer:
- PIN pad entry at the gates — use your unique PIN to enter and exit the complex through our three automatic sliding gates. No keys, no swipe cards, just your code.
- Remote door control from anywhere — open or close your unit door from your phone, no matter where you are. Forgot whether you locked up? Check and fix it from the couch.
- Door alerts for you and for us — if your unit door is opened, you’ll get an alert. So will we. That means any unexpected access is flagged immediately, not discovered days later.
- Motorised door control — our roller doors are motorised and connected to the system, so you’re not wrestling with a manual door every visit.
- Smart lock — your unit door is secured with a smart lock that can only be operated by you (or our team in an emergency). No one can cut it off, because there’s nothing to cut.
- Motion sensor — each unit has a motion sensor. If something moves inside your unit when it shouldn’t, you’ll know about it.
- Unit camera with snapshot images — a camera inside your unit can send snapshot images directly to your phone or our security centre. Eyes on your unit, always.
- On-site Wi-Fi — we provide a Wi-Fi network throughout the complex, handy when you’re sorting through your unit and need to look something up, or when the app needs a connection.
The physical security around the complex
The smart technology is backed up by serious on-site infrastructure:
- 72 CCTV cameras covering common areas throughout the entire complex
- Three automatic sliding gates with PIN pad entry control
- 2.1 metre perimeter fencing around the full site
- Five hoists servicing our upstairs units, so you’re not lugging things up stairs
- Undercover loading docks so you can move in and out protected from the weather
Our office is also on-site during business hours, with staff available and a full range of packing supplies if you need them.
Access on your schedule
Our standard access hours are 5am to 9pm, seven days a week, and 24/7 access is available for those who need it. Between the smart lock system, the gate PIN pads, and the remote door control, getting to your unit is straightforward at any hour.
Moving in? We make that easy too
We know that moving day is stressful enough without having to organise a truck on top of everything else. That’s why we offer a free truck or trailer with any new move-in, larger loads get the truck, smaller moves get the trailer. We also stock boxes, tape, and packing materials on-site, so you can grab what you need in one trip.
